Photo from the GOCC Corvette Caravan 2009 Day 2 - Miller Autosports Park, Salt Lake City, UT. Ken and Susie are all smiles here as were we all !!! We did get to full throttle down the front straight and yes, we went fast. Cleaned the brakes off entering turn one. A few fast corners and then had to slow down because of the cars in front. About 100 cars on the track at one time so there only a few chances to let all hang out. What a blast. The Bublitz will leave the Caravan here in Salt Lake and visit family and head home via Butte, Montana. Lots of fun cruising is in store for them on there way home. From Salt Lake, Monday, we head to the Denver, CO area. Should be a nice run. Hope all is going well back home. Oh, this evening we got wash off the collection of dirt and such from the previous days travels. Cars are again nice and shinny.

Along the Colorado River
day 3

Day 3 - This day of Corvette Caravan 2009 was another long day. From Salt Lake (with about 150 Corvettes) we headed south and exited I-15 onto a short cut (US-6 & US-191) to get to I-70. We followed I-70 all the way to our dinner stop at the Aurora Sports Park. Along the way we had wonderful driving, spectacular scenery and lots of Corvettes. Photos for this day are of GOCC Corvettes along the Colorado River; notice the elevated West Bound lane in one of the photos. The photo of Chuck and Cassandra is at the Aurora Sports Park dinner where we had hamburgers, hot dogs, chicken and all the trimmings. The parking lot full of Corvettes was also at dinner.

On Tuesday we have a free run day which means you are on your own to get to the next overnight stop, Blue Springs, Missouri, about 612 miles. We have no activities for this day except for what we might find to do along the way.

Sally took most of the 259 photos today on the road while we were keeping up with the locals, and they don't drive slow. The ones along the Colorado River were taken by Sally and she took many nice ones. There are just to many to include via email.

Save the Wave - Our arms are really getting a workout. And folks really do like to see all the Corvettes going down the road.

Sally gets driver time
day 4

          Hi,

Very late here and we are all tired. It was a great run today, but very long. The run through Kansas City was the most exciting. Mike got us through but it was close on one exit onto I-70. Sally took the drivers seat for one leg and wonder why she had not done more of the driving. She did know how to use the throttle !! We finally got Mike to stand tall with his Corvette for a picture. In Kansas we stopped at a rest stop and held up a big rock for awhile. We got tired holding it up and head on down the road. In Colby, Kansas, Byron & Sally found a very interesting visitors center. Made for a nice Corvette picture. Last but not least, at the end of the day we put our Corvettes up for the night.

          Best is yet to come.

          Still waving lots.

          Byron & Sally
